Description
In tactile metrology, extensions help to access hard-to-reach features of workpieces or prevent multiple styli from interfering with each other. The rule is: the shorter and stiffer the extension, the better – as few screw joints as possible ensure maximum stability. Titanium extensions are lightweight and corrosion-resistant. From 10-50 mm, the shafts are made of solid material. From a length of 50 mm, they are made of tubing. In these cases, the thin wall thickness limits the rigidity – especially in longer applications, this can impair the measuring accuracy.
